On Thursday, 10th November, the Clarke family travelled up to Coffs Harbour to play in the Northern NSW Optus Junior Tour Tennis Tournament. There were over 200 players playing at this prestige tournament, three of which were Blake, Corey and Krystal Clarke.

People from Sydney, Queensland and all over New South Wales travelled to play in this tournament.

Blake competed in the 12/U boys singles and doubles, Corey was in the 10/U and the 12/U singles and Krystal was in the 10/U singles and doubles. Blake was seeded 1 in the 12/U singles and Corey was seeded 2 in 10/U singles. All of them were very excited.

Blake was playing very well but when he reached the semi-final he played a Queensland boy who was very talented.  In a two and a half hour marathon, Blake eventually won with a score of 3-6 6-2 6-1.  Then, with some overpowering ground strokes, Blake won the final 6-4 6-1.

Corey ( who was in the 12/U ) lost in the second round to the number 2 seed but gained a lot of experience playing a boy who was two years older than him. But in the 10/U Corey was the dominant player with some great angles. Corey won the event with a 6-0 score line in the final.

Krystal competed in the 10/U girls and 10/U doubles where she and a little girl from Sydney combined to take out the 10/U doubles. This is an excellent result seeing she is only eight years old.  Well done Krystal.

Overall Blake, Corey and Krystal had an excellent week all playing very well, making new friends and gaining more experience.
