Laurieton Public School students marching in the Laurieton Anzac Day march.

Thank you to the 45 children who marched with our school group at last Thursday's Anzac Day commemoration.  I was thrilled to again have such a great turnout of students from our school recognising the importance of this event and I know that this is a reflection of the positive and supportive home environments of these children. Also, for the first time, some of our band students played with the town band at the conclusion of the service.

Well done also to the other children from our school who participated in the Anzac tradition, representing other community based organisations. It was encouraging to see so many young people carrying on this important Australian (and New Zealand) tradition, along with older generations who have experienced national service and/or the loss of loved ones in armed conflict.
